AN EAST Lancashire lecturer flew to Malaysia today to attend an international conference.
Accrington and Rossendale College tutor Dr David Kitchener has been invited by the University of Kebanggaan to conduct workshops exploring special needs transition arrangements.
He will be there for 10 days as part of the international conference, which will include lecturers, teachers and health practitioners from all around the world.
This follows a visit from two Malaysian university lecturers Dr Faridah Hussain, and Dr Nor Aishah Buang who came to Visit Accrington and Rossendale College in March 2002.
David said: "My brief is to work with Malaysian colleagues to implement inclusive, transitional arrangements for special needs groups moving from school to the post-compulsory sector."
