MORE THAN 1,000 local jobs will be up for grabs when more than 30 of East Lancashire's best known employers take part in a Jobsfair on Saturday.
The event is being held at the Jobcentre Plus Office, in Penny Street, Blackburn, and has been organised by the jobcentre in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
It promises to provide quality as well as quantity, providing a wide range of opportunities.
The armed forces and emergency services will be represented along with leading local employers such as Debenhams, Express Gifts and Sainsbury's.
Specialist Jobcentre advisers will be on hand to answer any questions and guidance officers from the council and an Action for Jobs team will provide advice on completing application forms and handling job interviews.
Ian Kent, from the Jobcentre, said a mixture of permanent, seasonal, full and part-time vacancies should mean there will be something for everyone who is looking for work.
"This is one of the largest recruitment events ever to take place in Blackburn and we are anticipating an excellent turn-out."
The Jobsfair opens to the public at 10am and closes at 3pm.
