COUNCILLOR Frank Connor, of Blackburn with Darwen Council (Letters, September 27) has little room to talk when it comes to 'blatant disregard'.
The council has been disregarding the views of the people who voted for them, on issues such as Puccino's deli-bar and parking on Church Street.
I was shocked at the result of your Friday Jury. Who are these one per cent that actually voted against Mr Ian Finch's deli-bar?
I thought such disregard was unique to Blackburn until Lancashire County Council decided to close down 32 care homes. Surely, this efficient and 'necessary' decision will be enough to take the 'council of the year' title away from Blackburn.
Eventually, everybody becomes elderly, including the Labour councillors responsible. With an ageing population we should be planning for the future, not for the 'now.'
