A MOTORBIKE rider is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious crash in Tyldesley.
The 19-year-old man, from Astley, was riding his Yamaha 125cc along Mort Lane towards Tyldesley when he collided with a Mercedes 1820 lorry driven by a 50-year-old Bolton man.
The motorbike rider suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment, where his condition was described as serious.
Both vehicles were badly damaged and Mort Lane was closed for around four hours following the accident at 12.10pm yesterday near the junction of High Crest Grove.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened near the junction of High Crest Grove at 12.10pm yesterday.
