ENTERTAINER Mark Walton is lending his voice to Elton High School's bid for specialist status.
He will be belting out a selection of well-known songs from the 1950s to the current day at a fund-raising concert later this week.
The school in Walshaw Road is aiming to hit a £50,000 target in its efforts to achieve Specialist School Status in Art, Design, and aspects of Technology.
More than £5,000 has been raised so far, and the concert to be held on Friday (Oct 4), is aimed at providing a major boost to the fund
Headteacher Mr Neil Scruton said "I hope people will come along to support Mark and the school, and help us achieve our target. Achieving Specialist Status will benefit all of our children."
Tickets, inclusive of supper, are £5 for adults, with accompanied children free, and can be obtained from Ms Needham or Miss Bailey at the school on 763-1434. There is also be a licensed bar.
