FORMER Wanderers ace Malcolm Barrass insists there will be no divided loyalties when his grandson lines up against Bolton.
While young Matt is currently starring at the back for Bury, Malcolm has a proud history with the Wanderers, having played in the great Matthews final of 1953 against Blackpool.
But Malcolm, who made more than 350 appearances for Bolton, insisted he would not be torn over which side to support, claiming Bury have a great chance of upsetting their Premiership neighbours.
"There's no reason why Bury can't beat Bolton," he said.
"They might be three divisions apart, but Bury have got 11 men just the same as Bolton and the game starts 0-0. After that, it's hey lads, hey for 90 minutes!"
Matt is also looking forward to his first competitive match against Bolton and, being Bury born and bred, is under no illusions about the importance of the clash.
"I know it means a lot to the fans but there a few Bury lads in our squad, so the match also means a lot to me and players like Martyn Forrest and Paul O'Shaugnessy," he said.
