PUBS including the Postal Order in Blackburn and The Brun Lea in Burnley are to be put under the microscope after pub giant JD Wetherspoon announced a series of quality inspections.
The company will work with Cask Marque and inspectors will go behind the scenes at all of its 611 pubs across the UK, including those in East Lancashire.
Operations director Nathan Wall said: "We have always had our own internal inspections but felt it was time to extend the process.
"We have already been working with Cask Marque but we believe this is the first time they have been asked to go back of house by a major pub company."
Inspectors will be looking at delivery of the product to the customer, presentation of bar areas, storage of wine, stock rotation, temperature and cleanliness, and hygiene.
The Brun Lea opened in Burnley back in February after a £1million transformation of a former office block in Manchester Road over four months.
Meanwhile, the chain is still looking at a move to Accrington after buying several premises of Broadway.
It turned its back on renovating the former Lar-de-Dars nightclub on Eagle Street because it said a revamp would cost too much money.
They have returned to the Broadway plans, which they ditched about a year ago because the firm thought the premises would not be large enough to be viable.
A sports shop has now been incorporated into the plans in the area which is undergoing a huge facelift.
