A PASSPORT to family learning with a combined theme of fun has been launched in East Lancs.
The event is being hosted at various indoor and outdoor centres, including the Queen Street Mill Museum, Briercliffe.
The scheme is part of Lancashire County Council's bid to get people out and about while being educated. More than 175 exciting educational events will be taking place until November 2, many free of charge.
The Passport to Family Learning and Fun coincides with National Family Learning Weekend from October 11 - 13, as well as the half-term holidays, giving the family the opportunity to get involved with events taking place across the country.
Collecting stamps in passports at each one gives families the chance to get stickers, colouring books or other gifts to take home.
Leader of Lancashire County Council Hazel Harding said: "Learning within the family unit allows us to go out into the world to experience new things, which is just as important as learning in the classroom. However, these events are not just about education, they're also about spending time with the family and having fun.
"Following last year's success, this time we have even more events planned, many completely free, so that more people can enjoy the activities."
