A MONEY-RAISING campaign has been launched to support Colne's popular, music, dance and drama festival.

The Luther Greenwood Memorial Festival attracts singers, dancers and drama enthusiasts from across the region but increasing costs have left festival organisers with a financial headache.

Two local choirs have pledged their help and are arranging concerts to raise cash in the coming months.

The first fundraising venture was organised by the festival committee, who hosted a coffee morning at St John's Church, Albert Road, Colne.

Books, cakes, tombola, bric-a-brac, coffee and biscuits were all on offer.

On Saturday, November 9, Colne Orpheus male voice and Colne Ladies' choir will join forces for a concert at Holy Trinity Church, Colne. The event begins at 7pm.

The ladies take to the stage again on Saturday afternoon, December 14, with a Christmas Carols concert at Bethel Church in Colne.
