THE wait is over, Preston's first jazz festival has finally arrived.
This week the streets will be bustling with music fans from far and wide, visiting venues across the city to hear their favourite music.
And they won't be disappointed -- some of the world's most talented musicians will be visiting the city for the five-day extravaganza.
There are still days of music left, until the entertainment winds down on Sunday, October 6.
Some of the big names left on the calendar are American singer Toni Janotta, Georgie Fame, and George Melly with John Chiltern's Feetwarmers.
Toni Janotta is based in Los Angeles, and has performed all over the USA and Europe.
The talented star is a singer and composer, and has recorded two CDs.
Georgie Fame has made more than 20 albums, and worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Eric Clapton and Van Morrison.
George Melly has toured with the Feetwarmers across the world, taking in Britain, Europe, the USA, Canada and the Far East.
Their blend of jazz, blues, humour and showmanship always goes down well with audiences.
Limited tickets are still available, and can be bought from venues across the city including the Guild Hall, Grasshoppers Rugby Club, Lightfoot Lane, or by calling 01772 712861.
