A MAN called police after a child rode his pedal cycle off the pavement and crashed into his car.
But the officer, who answered the Saturday afternoon call, smelled alcohol on Stephen Bailey's breath and he failed a breathalyser test.
Bailey, 23, of Littlemoor Road, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £150 with £65 costs and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Bailey, who gave a reading of 62 against the legal limit of 35, agreed to be referred to the drink drive rehabilitation programme which, if completed successfully, would reduce his ban by up to 25 per cent.
