PLANS have been approved for new housing on an important site in Breck Road, Poulton.
And development on another site in the area could also soon be in the pipeline.
The site of the Mary MacArthur Home, which has been demolished, has been given permission for three detached houses and two apartment blocks of five homes each.
Further up the road on the site of Victoria Motors, Wyre Planning Applications Committee are to have further discussions over a plan for nine apartment, eight town houses and six detached homes.
Both applications, in a sought-after residential area, are from Crosby Homes of Bamber Bridge.
On the Mary MacArthur site the houses would be on the frontage with an access road in the centre of the site and the apartments at the rear. Nine trees on the site will be removed, mostly because of their poor health, but 21 others will remain.
Councillors are to try to retain an attractive brick lychgate at the front of the site. The developers are to be asked if it can be retained or possibly used on another site.
