BURNLEY runner Caron Fenwick is hoping it will be third time lucky when the Great North Run takes place this weekend.
Mrs Fenwick, of Salus Street, has intended to take part in the race for the past three years but for various reasons has not been able to compete.
She plans to tackle the North East half marathon on Sunday to raise money for Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle.
In preparation for the event, Mrs Fenwick, who works in the pharmacy centre at Burnley General Hospital, has been sticking to a training programme organised for her.
And she will have plenty of moral support fromher friends Janet Holden and Jill Heyes who have decided to take part as well.
