A DRINK driver who also flouted other motoring laws was dubbed a "menace," to other road users.
Burnley Magistrates told David Greg Henderson, 21, he seemed to think he could safely get behind the wheel without insurance and they took a pretty dim view of his conduct.
Henderson, who police described as "obviously quite drunk," when they stopped him in the early hours, was banned for 12 months and fined £60.
The defendant, of Glen View Road, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol, two counts of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, two of no insurance and two of no MOT.
Sarah Statham, prosecuting, said the defendant was seen driving along Moorland Road, Burnley, at 3.40am.
Police tried to stop the vehicle but it didn't stop. It eventually came to a halt and Henderson got out of the driver's seat.
Officers noticed the defendant smelled very strongly of alcohol and was "obviously quite drunk". The lower of two police station breath tests showed 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 mililitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Mark Williams, defending, said Henderson had been at his girlfriend's and had a drink. They had a row and he decided to go home.
The defendant stormed out of the house, got in the car and drove a relatively short distance. When he was stopped, he was almost home.
