BURY joint chairman John Smith has praised the Bury fans for their superb support at the Reebok on Wednesday evening.
The Shakers supremo reckons the vocal backing the side received was the difference between losing and winning through to, hopefully, another big pay day.
"I'd like to go on record to thank all the fans who made the trip to Bolton," he said.
"Their support throughout the match was absolutely superb and it was worth an extra man to us on the night.
"I know the players and manager really appreciated it and let's hope they are rewarded with another plum tie in the next round."
The draw for the third round of the competition is being shown live on Sky Sports' Super Saturday programme between 2pm and 2.30pm.
The clubs involved in European competition: Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds, Newcastle, Blackburn Rovers and Fulham all join the competition at this stage.
"If we could pull out a big city club away from home it would give us a marvellous lift financially," Smith added.
"But, having said that, a home draw would be great for our fans too.
"If we play like we did on Wednesday we have no reason to fear anybody, the performance was brilliant."
