COUNTY officials were today planting a tree at a school's eco-centre before holding a cabinet meeting in a village hall.
Lancashire County Councillor Tim Ormrod, cabinet member for public protection and rural affairs and chairman of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Advisory Committee, will lead committee members on a walking tour of Chipping.
The committee will plant a tree at the eco-centre at Brabin's Endowed School, then meet in the recently-extended Chipping Village Hall.
Brabin's Endowed School's award-winning eco-centre includes recycling facilities, a willow dome, a compost section and wildlife garden.
The committee will discuss open access legislation, the Bowland Tourism Environment Fund, the Quiet Roads and Greenways Initiative, the AONB annual report and the recently launched Forest of Bowland web site.
The meeting starts at 2pm and members of the public are welcome to attend.
