FROM Russia with love! That's a lucrative order scooped by a Bury company thanks to the world wide web.
SP Air Ltd have successfully tendered and completed the contracted order for pneumatic and cutting grinding tools for the Iron Curtain company.
And the business, based at at the Peel Industrial Estate, is delighted that its web site has been responsible for the Russian order.
Last year SP Air went "live" on the Internet and won an order to supply a firm in the Middle East with 200 pneumatic screwdrivers.
The Bury company, who manufacture and supply a full range of industrial pneumatic-automotive tools and automation control equipment, have been concentrating their efforts predominantly on the European markets.
Their latest contract saw the business supply 900 of its own manufactured pneumatic cutting and grinding tools to a company based in Russia. The initial enquiry for the tools was generated from the already successful SP Air Web site.
Mr. Rob Yates, general manager of SP Air, signed off the initial shipment of the order consignment along with the final shipment of the contract for the remaining cutting and grinding tools displayed behind him.
Managing Director Mr. Mike Reilly says, general manager Rob Yates and the staff at SP Air Ltd have worked extremely hard to secure this ongoing contract.
"The team have been in constant contact on a daily basis with our Russian counterparts to ensure the ongoing smooth transaction of this order. "
He paid tribute to the Bury-based North Manchester UK Online Business-link Management team headed by Mrs Sue Warburton.
Mr Reilly said they had provided "continued ongoing support advice and awareness." He went on: "They noticed the potential within the SP Air philosophy. They have seen fit to award us with two prestigious web site development-based grants."
The Bury firm is currently in negotiation with two companies in Portugal and Poland for the supply of their complete range of industrial-automotive pneumatic tools and automation control equipment products.
