IAIN Anderson could be in line for a return to league action against Bradford after impressing boss Craig Brown on Tuesday night.
The £500,000 Scot, who was signed from Toulouse by David Moyes, has been on an intense fitness programme to get him back in shape.
Brown gave the left-sided player the chance to prove his fitness in the Worthington Cup match against Macclesfield on Tuesday and has admitted that Anderson is now firmly back in contention for a first team place.
But he he has stiff competition for the left-wing berth, with American international Eddie Lewis the first choice for the spot.
He made a mixed start to his North End career but seems to be improving with every game.
For Brown, the return of Anderson gives him more flexibility as he continues to shake up the pack ahead of each game, changing his team's formation in a bid to win more games.
Tomorrow's game at Valley Parade could provide North End with their first win in three games.
But Brown has a number of injuries to concern himself with ahead of the trip to Bradford.
Ricardo Fuller was due to undergo checks at the training ground today to see if would be fit for tomorrow after suffering a leg swelling.
Colin Murdock has been told to stay away after contracting a stomach bug, but he could be better by tromorrow.
But keeper David Lucas has already been all but ruled out after damaging his ankle on Tuesday.
