A MAN took exception when he felt neighbours of his estranged wife were interfering in his matrimonial problems.

Blackburn magistrates heard that when police arrived at the wife's home John Moir was jabbing his finger and making threats towards the neighbours.

Moir, 25, of Moorgate Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

He was given an absolute discharge after the magistrates heard that following his arrest he was detained in custody for more than 12 hours. He was ordered to pay £55 costs.

Basharat Ditta, defending, said Moir and his wife were having problems and there had been a row over the children.
