AN event to mark the coming together of foster carers from throughout East Lancashire takes place at Burnley Football Club tomorrow.
Foster carers, their families and the children they looked after on behalf of Lancashire Social Services have been invited to the event at the club's Family Village to celebrate the formation of the East Lancashire Task Centred Fostering Team.
County councillors throughout the area have been invited to the event, which will include the chance to take part in a penalty shoot out with Burnley Football Club's mascot Bertie Bee. There will also be a bouncy castle and games including cricket and short tennis for the youngsters, plus a disco for all ages. The event runs from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
County Councillor Chris Cheetham, Cabinet Member for Social Service's said: "The event will be an ideal opportunity for East Lancashire carers who offer short term placements to our looked after children to meet each other, enjoy themselves, and to help promote fostering generally within the community."
