ACCORDING to your Comment (LET September 11), there has been no lack of vision in Blackburn's town centre regeneration efforts.
I will tell you what vision is. Vision was when the elders of Blackburn decided to build a magnificent town hall and market hall in the last century.
There were no grants -- they had to look close at hand for their needs.
They found all the stone they needed within a mile of the site -- at Grimshaw Park delph. That was vision well used.
The "vision" for Church Street took us to the other side of Europe for material and, not being satisfied with that, they went to China, all at the expense of the taxpayer. And they came back with stones that baffled pavers imported from Portugal!
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph should not try and cover up the blunders of others as you are doing. The mistakes are so obvious.
"Vision" is a word which you should be careful how you use -- as I think you're somewhat shortsighted.
