AN elderly Blackpool driver was killed at the weekend when his car collided with another vehicle on a main road near Lancaster.
Ben Irvine, 94, of Hilstone Lane, North Shore, died after the Citroen Xsara he was driving collided with an Isuzu Trooper at Five Lane Ends, Bay Horse, Lancaster at 11.22am on Saturday.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said Mr Irvine was driving from a give way junction on a side road onto the main road at Five Lane Ends when the smash happened.
The driver of the Trooper, 24-year-old Alexander William McKinstry of Copy Lane, Caton near Lancaster, received minor chest injuries.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at Lancaster on 01524 63333.
