IT wasn't one of their best performances but the Seasiders came from behind to take all three points and carry on an impressive unbeaten run at Bloomfield Road.

After going a goal down in the first half a huge slice of luck turned the game around and two goals after the break sealed the win which consolidates Pool's 7th position in the table.

News prior to the game wasn't good with key stars Martin Bullock and Danny Coid missing out due to injury.

But Bullock's replacement Paul Dalglish filled in superbly with arguably his best performance in tangerine colours.

And it was Dalglish who was involved in Pool's first chances of the game.

After just 7 minutes Simon Grayson set Dalglish free down the right hand side where he went on to drive down what seemed the whole length of the pitch.

But unfortunately Dalglish's screaming effort at the end of the run was matched by Cheltenham keeper Steve Book who tipped it over the bar.

Dalglish turned into the provider on 21 minutes when he slipped the ball to Scott Talyor through on goal.

But Taylor never really got control of the ball and his effort at goal was subsequently weak and an easy save for Book.

At the other end Cheltenham gave Pool a scare early on as striker Tony Naylor was left all alone in the box after a pull back from Michael Duff.

Luckily for Pool though, Naylor scuffed his shot straight at a grateful Phil Barnes.

The remaining 15 minutes of the period was all about one man.

Cheltenham striker Damian Spencer went from hero to villain in the space of 10 minutes after scoring a superb goal at the right end only to cancel it out with an own goal at the other.

His first goal was excellent - a long ball from the Chelteham back four was nodded down at the edge of the box for Spencer who superbly volleyed into the roof of the net.

But the visitors' lead was short lived as Spencer nodded a Richie Wellens corner past his own keeper just before the stroke of half time.

The goal came exactly at the right time for Blackpool and the second period was all their way.

Murphy missed a glorious chance just after the hour mark, taking too many touches when put through on goal allowing Cheltenham to recover.

But it was only a matter a time before the Seasiders took the lead and they did on 66 minutes.

Richie Wellens began the move picking the ball up in his own half and driving down the centre of the field to release Scott Talyor just outside the box on the left hand side.

Taylor was challenged but the ball fell kindly back to Wellens who had continued his run into the box and the Blackpool midfielder chipped Book to put the Seasiders in front.

Cheltenham offered little in attack after the Wellens strike and so it was inevitable that the next goal would be another Blackpool one.

Taylor and Dalglish both squandered chances before second half substitute Richard Walker smashed home the third from close range with his first touch of the game.

With teams around Blackpool winning also, Pool remain in 7th position.

But the most promising outcome of the game was the fact that despite Pool not playing at their best, they still took the points - a feature most common with sides finishing at the right end of the table come the end of the season.
