NEW Ramsbottom manager Andy Grimshaw kicked off his managerial career with a draw against title hopefuls St Helens.
Grimshaw , who was previously a player at the club and will continue to play 'very rarely', has taken over at the Riverside in the place of Mike Kelly, who resigned on Sunday after a bad start to the season.
Jimmy Clarke and Chris Burke have joined the club's backroom staff.
It was nearly a dream start for Grimshaw who saw his side lead St Helens for 85 minutes thanks to a Russell Brierley goal late in the first half. But five minutes from time the visitors got the equaliser.
But Grimshaw was pleased with the performance. He said: "I think I got a good reaction from the lads. They all gave 110 per cent, their work rate as fabulous."
