FYLDE Coast teacher, Pauline Mills, has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a four-year-old Blackpool girl drowned in a swimming pool tragedy.
Mrs Mills, 53, of Marsh View, Newton, near Kirkham, who is also a school swimming instructor, is accused of the manslaughter of Emma Jane Farrar.
She spoke only to confirm her name, age and address during the two-minute hearing at Blackpool Magistrates Court on October 9.
The packed public gallery included Emma's mother plus relatives and friends.
District Judge David Scanlon bailed Mrs Mills to appear at Preston Crown Court on November 4.
Emma, of Nuttall Road, was a pupil at Park School. She died after a swimming lesson at The Woodlands School, Whitegate Drive, Blackpool, in November last year.
Mrs Mills has been suspended from school duties pending the outcome of the court case.
