SINCE Charlotte's death pictures of the 22-year-old, often sitting with her siblings, have taken pride of place in the Flanagans' family home in Darwen.
But for her mother, Dorothy, there is one photograph of Charlotte which has become the lasting memory of the murdered local girl.
A miniature version of it now sits inside a pendant, which she wears at all times.
Mrs Flanagan said: "We have many wonderful photographs of Charlotte from various times of her life and we love to go through them.
"After she died, some people she met on holiday, who read what happened to her, sent us a picture of them with Charlotte, which they had taken on holiday.
"The pictures have so many happy memories.
"But the one I particularly like just seems to sum her up. She was a beautiful daughter and she has a wonderful smile on her face.
"It reminds me how much we have lost because of what happened."
