THE days that led up to the death of Charlotte Flanagan.
Dec 24: Gareth Horton travels to London to spend Christmas with Charlotte.
Dec 25: Charlotte Flanagan meets her new boyfriend, David Ivmey, at the Barley Mow pub where she is working.
Dec 26: Horton checks into the County Hotel, right, in London. Charlotte and David have a date at TGI Fridays, in Leicester Square.
Dec 27: David Ivmey returns to Nottingham with Charlotte promising to visit him on New Year's Day.
Dec 31: 4pm: Charlotte finishes her afternoon shift in the pub and goes out for a meal with Horton. They talk about her new boyfriend.
6pm: Horton rings his mum to say what a good time he is having.
8pm: They return to the Barley Mow for the Vicars' and Tarts' Party. Horton does not dress up.
9.30pm: Horton rings home again. Again, he sounds happy.
11.30pm: He starts texting his social worker friend Sharon McBreen about the party, saying he is dressed in a skirt and had shaved his legs. Neither claims were true.
Jan 1: 12.15am: Charlotte takes a break and goes to her room after appearing to row with Horton.
1am: Charlotte fails to return from her break. Horton says he will see what is wrong with her, but the two barmen on duty say she can stay up there, they can manage.
1.30am: Horton leaves the pub. He appears calm.
3.15am: He rings his mum from a phonebox near to the Thames to confess to his mother that he has killed Charlotte. He then walks into the Thames, below, close to the Embankment tube station.
4am: He phones home again. Shortly afterwards he speaks to the police on the phone until he is arrested.
4.30am: Police arrive at the Barley Mow and discover Charlotte's body.
4.55am: Horton arrives at Walworth Police Station and is examined by a doctor. He is described as 'orientated' -- not confused.
10.10am: Tells police he wants to tell them everything. He says: "I was living with her."
1.40pm: In the presence of a solicitor and social worker, he refuses to answer questions but gives statement about his mental health.
7.15pm: Interviewed a second time.
Jan 2 1.12am: Charged with murder.
