THE Preston Caribbean Carnival and Arts Association would like to pass on its grateful thanks to The Citizen for your help in this year's event in June enabling us to make it a great success.
We hope you were able to enjoy the day as we, and many others did.
We are now laying the foundations for future development of the event.
You will no doubt remember the day did began with a somewhat memorable but brief downpour.
But not even that was able to dampen the spirits of neither the procession bands and their members, nor the many thousands who lined the streets of our city, eagerly awaiting the procession to arrive and pass by.
The East side stage show was also a great crowd puller (estimated at approximately 20,000) and we intend to make it an even bigger show next year.
A new committee has just been established and we look forward to your continued support for Preston City Caribbean Carnival, May 2003.
Ronald Clarke (chairman),
Preston Caribbean Carnival and Arts Association.
