CLITHEROE manager Lee Sculpher will be taking nothing for granted when his side travel to bottom club Glossop North End in NWCL Division One tomorrow.

The Derbyshire strugglers have lost nine out of 11 games this season but surprised everyone by getting a point at title hopefuls Salford City in midweek.

Sculpher's men will be looking to improve on their fifth position and boost their chances of the title but their player-boss says it may not be as easy as it seems.

"You never know whether teams have picked up one or two players in the last couple of weeks," he said. "So we won't be taking anything for granted."

After losing the last two games, the Blues got back to winning ways with a 3-0 win at Flixton on Tuesday.

"We have struggled in the last couple of weeks," said Sculpher. "So it was good to get three points, three goals and a clean sheet.

"Kris Richens in goal probably had his best game of the season. His confidence seems to have returned after not having one of the best starts to the season by his standards."

The Blues led the league before the two disappointing defeats but have now slipped down the league. With just one promotion place up for grabs it is important for them not to slip further behind leaders Prescot Cables.

"We have dipped but everyone is within six or seven points of each other and we still have games in hand.

'We've just got to ensure we pick up a few victories to keep us up there."

Sculpher is hoping to sign Stalybridge defender Adam Douglas in time for tomorrow's game.

Gary Jackson, a target for Great Harwood, has decided to stay at Shawbridge.
