DESPITE being frustrated at times by the Mossley Hill offside trap, PNE managed to break it down and eventually came out convincing winners.
PNE took the lead on 23 minutes when Fiona Dransfield ran on to Alison Tabener's 40-yard free-kick from her own half and coolly placed it over the keeper.
With confidence boosted, PNE pressed harder, and Laura Cain was unlucky with a long shot.
Mossley Hill broke through, but Catherine Gibson made sure the striker couldn't get a shot in. Laura Cain was again unlucky when her header went just wide. Sarah Parker was eventually rewarded on 42 minutes, after taking a pass from Catherine Gibson to round the keeper to slot home.
On 51 minutes, after some excellent passing between Alison Tabener and Mel Walker, Fiona Dransfield broke through and slotted in her second goal.
Mossley Hill eventually managed to break through on 73 minutes but Browne went down at the feet of the oncoming attacker and managed to divert the shot, and Dransfield cleared the rebound off the line.
PNE pressed for another goal, and sub Lou Cafferkey nearly got it on 80 minutes but the keeper smothered her shot. Jenny Cottam then joined the attack and her cross was met by Lou Cafferkey who shot went just wide.
Mossley Hill had a one-on-one with the PNE keeper, but Karen Browne made an excellent save, to ensure a clean sheet.
Lou Cafferkey beat the offside trap on 87 minutes and swept the ball past the keeper into the net.
