THE HUNT is on for our very own cupid to see if the most romantic people in Britain are right here in East Lancashire.

The Burn FM late night presenter Sally Moon has set herself a mission to prove that red roses are ten a penny in the county and that there is no shortage of candlelit dinners.

She is giving listeners the chance to nominate friends, relatives or themselves to win the competition on her show Music For Romantics broadcasting on 106FM.

"We have got three categories to vote for" said Sally, "the most romantic couple, the most romantic person and the most romantic lady".

And a gauntlet has been thrown down for Lancashire folk. In a recent national survey it was the Welsh who were voted as Britain's most romantic people.

Sally said: "We can't be beaten that easily so I really want people from East Lancashire to get in touch so that we can show the rest of Britain what we are made of."

The show is broadcast between 10pm and midnight every week day night and nominations will be read out on air. Details of the competition will be explained at around 11.30pm.

Nominations must be in writing to Sally Moon at FM106 The Burn, Newspaper House, High Street, Blackburn, BB1 1HT or by email to sally@theburnfm.com no later than October 16.

Each category winner will receive a prize and winners will be announced on October 18.
