SIX ten-mile circuits have been laid out across East Lancashire ready for the Magic Eye sponsored walks tomorrow.
And sporting celebrities as well as local dignitaries will give all the hardy walkers encouragement.
The walks are set to be the biggest single sponsored event for the Lancashire Evening Telegraph appeal which hopes to raise £200,000 for an endoscopic ultrasound scanner.
The walks on Sunday set off from start points in Blackburn, Hyndburn, Clitheroe, Rossendale, Nelson and Burnley between 9am and10.30am.
Fund-raisers who simply want to turn up and register on the start line will be welcomed.
The start of the Blackburn circuit will be in St Paul's Square at the main reception of Blackburn College. Blackburn Rovers defender Martin Taylor will make a guest appearance at 10am and the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Coun Tony Humphrys, will start walking at 9am.
Craig Heap, who captained the England gymnastics team to Commonwealth Games gold will walk for the scanner in Burnley, setting off from Gawthorpe High School, Padiham.
The Nelson route starts from Nelson and Colne College in Scotland Road, Barrowford.
Kerry Gillibrand, who competed in the Commonwealth Games 1,500 metres, will show the way for walkers in Hyndburn. Fund-raisers will meet at the Uno car park on Whitebirk Retail Park.
The Mayor of Ribble Valley, Coun Joyce Holgate, will start the Clitheroe walk which begins and ends at the council offices in Clitheroe.
In Rossendale, walkers should meet at Marl Pits Sports Complex in Newchurch Road, with business woman of the year Gloria Oats.
