ENERGY efficient week begins today and a Hyndburn society is offering free house maintenance in a bid to keep vulnerable people warm in the coming months.
Hyndburn Homewise Society, in Whalley Road, Accrington, is following a national campaign to improve insulation in all homes.
And free loft installation, draught proofing and, in some cases, central heating will be available.
Sue Sinclair, manager of Hyndburn Homewise, said: "If anyone thinks they may be eligible, contact us to arrange a survey with no obligation."
To be eligible, householders must be on means-tested benefits and be either over 60, pregnant or have children under 16. Those in receipt of disability benefit are also eligible.
For more information contact Homewise on 01254 232249 or 01254 385213.
