A RESIDENTS association set up three years ago is facing closure -- unless two new committee members are found.
Greenhill Residents Association, in Great Harwood, needs a new secretary and treasurer after the previous post-holders handed in their notice for personal reasons.
Now the call has gone out to find their replacements to avoid losing the facility, based at the Jubilee Centre, Greenhill, Great Harwood.
Paul Dunn, vice-chairman and head of funding, said he was worried about the prospect of closure.
"If we don't get anybody the association will have to close. It's as desperate as that," he said. "We can hold on for a week or two, but we definitely need the positions filling as soon as possible.
"We definitely can't run without either of them, practically and legally."
The association was formed three years ago with an eight-strong committee and represents more than 200 residents on the estate. With £1,500 funding from the council and a Jubilee grant, it has provided four computers for people on the estate to use.
Last month it secured another £1,000 grant from the CVS for computer software and card tables, so the centre can be used for whist nights.
A special meeting has been arranged for next week so residents can discuss the problem. Anybody interested in either voluntary position can commit as much time to it as they want to.
The meeting takes place at 7pm on Tuesday, October 22 at the Jubilee Centre, Greenhill, Great Harwood.
