FIRE officers have repeated their warning about the dangers of fireworks after stables in Blackburn were destroyed by a blaze yesterday.
Witnesses saw teenagers playing with fireworks close to Wensley Road shortly before fire crews were called out around 7.20pm.
It took three crews, two from Blackburn and one from Darwen, 90 minutes to put out the fire which destroyed the stables and 50 hay bales inside.
No animals were injured in the fire.
A spokesman for Blackburn fire service said: "We need to get across the message that playing with fireworks is not fun - it's highly dangerous and can lead to incidents like this one.
"The stables were completely destroyed and it's quite possible that someone could have died."
