GOT a question about the council? Then go straight to the top!
Residents have been given the chance to quiz Mr Mark Sanders, Bury Council's chief executive, on the Internet during Local Democracy Week.
From last Friday (Oct 11), locals were given seven days to lodge any question on the council's website address, www.bury.gov.uk HERE
Mr Sanders promises to reply to them all, starting this Thursday afternoon (Oct 17), and make them public on the web.
This "ask the chief executive" session is one event aimed at improving communication.
Bury's theme this year is called "Your Community, Your Council, Your Say" and looks at several areas:
communicating with staff: this includes having staff pen pictures/profiles on the council's internal web site.
promoting the council to the community: join a tour of Bury Town Hall by phoning 253 5177! Or discover more about the council in Kay Gardens in Bury this Friday (Oct 18) from 9am to 5pm.
communicating with communities: the town hall is hosting displays showing how Local Community Plans are getting on after 12 months, plus presentations at area boards. A new edition of the council's newspaper, Bury Metro News, has been published week.
Mr Jason Crausby, head of communication and partnership, can be contacted on 253 6970 or by e-mail at J.Crausby@bury.gov.uk.
