DISADVANTAGED and disabled children will be learning about each other next week during an activity week at the Coldwell Activity Centre in Nelson.
The project will provide an opportunity for the Active8 team from Hull, who are a disadvantage group of young people, and the East Lancashire Deaf Society to work closely together.
Youngster will deal with cultural differences and learn about the problems they each have to deal with on a daily basis.
They will take part in horseriding, watersports, rockclimbing, sporting activities, a circus skills session and arts and crafts during the activity week, which will begin on Sunday.
The cost of project has been met by the Children's Fund Local Network and the Coldwell Activity Centre itself.
Any group which could benefit from two similar programmes planned for next year should contact Coldwell Activity Centre on 01282 601819.
