FIRE safety, road safety and personal safety will be the theme of a special event taking place in Barnoldswick Town Square on Saturday.
The event has been organised by police in partnership with Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Primary Care Trust and other local emergency services.
During the event, which runs from 10am -2pm, visitors will be able to see displays by Pennine Division's Road Policing Unit and the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service as well as pick up some free literature on a range of safety issues.
Co-organiser, Sergeant Russ Gregory, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "Making the roads safer, particularly for children, is a key priority for the Road Policing Unit this year and there are a number of ways in which we aim to achieve that objective.
"One of them is by helping to educate children and parents about road safety and tell them how best to avoid becoming injured in a road traffic collision.
"During the safety day we will handing out information on road safety and talking to visitors about some of the simple things they can do to reduce the risk of being injured in an accident -- like making sure they wear seatbelts.
"Safety is quite obviously a serious issue but with plenty of displays, giveaways and representatives from the different emergency services visitors can have some fun, as well as food for thought."
