ROSSENDALE-based security specialists Technology Solutions has installed a state-of-the-art system in the biggest municipal park in Europe.
The £600,000 scheme in Manchester's Heaton Park is a neat combination of the latest industry developments with eye-catching design, tailored to fit in with the park's historic past.
A total of19 CCTV cameras, each with full panoramic vision and infra-red capability, are mounted on specially designed columns in keeping with Heaton Park's Victorian heritage.
They provide 24-hour surveillance of the vast 640 acre park and there is also a rapid response unit which can be used to target specific incidents.
"The cameras are sited at key locations throughout the park, including main entrances, car parks and amenities such as the farm centre, the recently refurbished temple, pet's corner, garden centre and lodge buildings," said John Digman of Technology Solutions.
"The system also protects the park's jewel, the Grade 1 listed Heaton Hall which dates back to 1772. "
Technology Solutions provided fibre optic cable for a 5km long network which will allow future communications, including IT data, intercoms and phone systems. The heart of the park's new security system is an ultra modern control centre which features the latest plasma touch screen technology.
"We applied the very latest thinking and technology," said John. "It makes for a much better control centre environment."
