Leigh Miners Rangers 36 Castleford Lock Lane 0 - HIGH-FLYING Lock Lane were brought to earth with a bump as the Miners shattered their previous 100 per cent National Conference League Premier Division record.
A hat-trick of tries from in form loose-forward Tommy Goulding helped set up Miners' huge victory over the table-toppers.
But it wasn't a one man show as the Twist Lane side recaptured the sort of form that got them to last season's Grand Final.
Lock Lane were knocked out of their stride by some tenacious Miners defence and when it came to attack, they had no answer to Goulding and Co.
It was Goulding's try after just four minutes that set the pattern for the game. He ploughed through the visitors' defence for a try goaled by Simon Hartley.
Nine minutes later winger Hartley made the break for centre Lee Patterson to race under the posts. Hartley again added the goal.
A Chris Lee 40/20 set up the position for Leigh's third try, again from Goulding, and when Carl Jones streaked in for a fourth Leigh touchdown and Hartley added a penalty, the Miners were virtually home and dry at 22-0.
Locl Lane battled hard to try and salvage something but when Goulding blasted down the right to complete his hat-trick, it was all over.
In the final few minutes the Miners added another two tries from Sean Phoenix and Craig Graham to complete the comprehensive victory.
