Ideal Isberg 20 Leigh East 20 - EAST should now be top of the National Conference Premier Division.
Leading 12-2 against second bottom Ideal Isberg and with neighbours Leigh Miners hammering leaders Lock Lane, East had a golden opportunity to slip into first place.
But East let themselves down. The loss of prop Mike Whiteside with a broken nose didn't help but lapses of discipline and poor play left them lucky to salvage a point with an injury time try from Simon Warhurst.
In the early stages it looked as though East would tear the Hull side apart. In the third minute Kilshaw hit an upright with a penalty attempt but the ball bounced back into the hands of Greg Evans and he sent Whiteside over.
Backed up
Kilshaw converted and 15 minutes later backed up a break from Warhurst to score and add the goal to put East 12-2 up.
By half time the lead had been whittled down to 12-8, East losing possession and then defending poorly to let Ideal in at the corner. The goal shot failed but Ideal added a penalty goal just on the bell.
The second half was little better and was less than a minute old when another East fumble and poor tackling let Ideal in again to make it 12-12.
Gary Fletcher handed off to restore East's lead but more poor defensive work saw Ideal draw level and then sneak in front.
East's face-saver came in injury time when Radley, Gunning and Molyneaux set up Warhurst's leveller.
