I WOULD like to appeal to any of your readers who is tetraplegic, severely paralysed following damage to the spinal cord, or has a family member of friend who is tetraplegic .
Many will know the work of Regain, the only organisation in the UK which supports men and women who become tetraplegic as a result of a sporting injury. The charity purchases equipment, ranging from electric wheelchairs and computers to lightweight sports wheelchairs, so that they can enjoy sport again.
We would ask people to contact Regain if they are in need of equipment, and also to support a unique integrated cycle ride in Kenya for both disabled and able-bodied cyclists to help raise funds.
If any readers would like to join the challenge or nominate and support a disabled person to take part, we would be very keen to hear from them. For information, contact me on 01590 612227.
