RESIDENTS of a new home for the blind and deaf will be able to indulge the sense of touch at a special sensory water feature.
Consisting of a wishing well, pebbles and a fountain, the feature provides sensory stimulation for residents. It also has seats on either side and is wheelchair accessible.
The home, in Park Road, Accrington, will house three residents living as independently as possible.
It was furnished using donations from Sense and ICI. Features include the use of high colour contrasts, textured surfaces, modified lighting and acoustics to maximise use of vision and hearing.
