A WOMAN was taken to hospital with whiplash after a four-car accident in Church.
Police said the accident happened on Wednesday when Peter Batty, 50, of Company Way, Rishton, pulled into the offside lane of Dunkenhalgh Way, Church, in his Volkswagen Golf into the path of a second car.
That car, a Ford Fiesta driven by Virginia Nutter, 34, of Liverpool Road, Burnley, rebounded back into the nearside lane into the path of a third car, a Nissan Primera, which in turn struck the back of a Renault Megane, driven by Susan Scott, 56, of Ribchester Road, Clayton-le-Dale.
The driver of the Nissan, Rita Shaw, 32, of Rishton, was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary suffering with whiplash, and released after treatment.
