BLACKPOOL Scorpions started the game without a number of their first team regulars due to injury.
Things started bad and quickly went worse as Leigh East scored two quick tries with one converted to lead 10-0 after 10 minutes.
Scorpions applied a set move from the scrum and Valente went over in the corner for an unconverted try.
Scorpions at last had control of the ball and passed the ball quickly to Tanner in centre field who strolled through the defence for a converted try. The score was now 10-10.
Scorpions seemed to have the upper hand. Then, with a scrum on their own line, Towell fumbled to let Leigh East in for an easy converted try.
Leigh scored a drop goal with their next possession to lead 17-10.It was close to half time, but poor defending by Scorpions allowed Leigh to score two more tries to lead 27-10 at half time.
Scorpions leaked in another try from kick off, but responded with Valente's second try their last score of the day.
Mistakes by the Scorpions allowed the home side in for two final tries to finish 43-14 victors.
Unfortunately, Scorpions picked up another three injuries before thist week's home game against Golborne Parkstone (kick off: 1.30).
