WATER works are in the pipeline for the Fylde Coast this week.
United Utilities began work on Monday to improve a main water supply pipeline between Garstang and Blackpool, which supplies parts of Poulton, Warbreck, Great Eccleston and over-Wyre.
The pipeline, more than two feet in diameter, is being lined with plastic using a technique known as slip-lining, dubbed "key-hole surgery for water mains" by workers.
Engineers are also re-routing water through other parts of the supply network and customers may notice their water pressure is lower than usual, or the supply may look cloudy.
Steve Leatham, United Utilities network customer manager, said: "We will do everything possible to minimise disruption for customers, and any changes will be temporary. The water will still be safe to drink at all times."
