IN a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour from people living in council property, Bury Metro Council are considering implementing "introductory tenancies" for new clients.
This will affect all new tenants in the councils area including Ramsbottom.
The idea is that the trial period will last twelve months and during this time people will not have the same legal rights as existing "secure tenants".
When the council are satisfied that the property can be looked after, rent can be paid on time and that tenants do not cause a nuisance to neighbours they will gain the same rights as existing tenants. The council is currently consulting all existing council residents for their views on this.
At the moment these are just proposals. If you do not receive the information which should arrive with your rent statement, telephone 0161 253 6053 for more information or e-mail your views to j.merrick@bury.gov.uk.
