THREE Blackpool businessmen are battling it out to earn the title of Fylde Entrepreneur of the Year.
"All three companies are examples of wonderful growth stories and all three impressed the judges with their ability," said Amanda Meachin of the award organisers Guardian Angel Entrepreneurs Network.
The winner will be announced at a lunch at the Garstang Golf Club on October 25.
The three finalists are Ian Driscoll of IBS Vehicle Leasing, Alex McCracken of TISS Ltd and Chris Darwell of Town Casinos.
Alex has developed an electronic security system for curtain-sided trailers and Chris runs a website which reviews casinos, an area where direct advertising is not allowed. He also develops websites for other people.
"The companies are judged on a number of different criteria, not simply sales and turnover," said Amanda.
"We look at growth potential, the level of professionalism they have shown and how innovative they are."
All three companies are members of the Guardian Angel network which offers free support and guidance for up-and-coming businesses and is appealing to business leaders in the region to get involved.
Young businesses are twinned with an experience businessmen who can offer advice as a business grows and has to deal with problems.
"We are constantly looking to add to our pool of business people who are willing to pass on their words of wisdom," said Amanda.
