I MUST respond to the letter in the Citizen (Oct 3) "Path cyclists should think of the blind".
Although I do sympathise with them and agree that some people cycle far too fast on pavements, please spare a thought for those us us with young children.
Most of the roads round me are far too busy and dangerous to take young children on.
We try to do out best to keep our children fit and healthy -- and travel without polluting the environment -- but we are cursed by pedestrians if we use the pavement and cursed by drivers if we use the road.
Cycle paths are the answer, but these are few and far between, and the paths near me are constantly blocked with parked cars.
So instead of wishing us to be punished by the law, what about campaigning for more cycle paths or safer roads, then everyone will be happy.
Mrs Nelson, Swan Drive, Thornton-Cleveleys.
