FLAT caps, gangster suits and flapper dresses were the order of the day at Whitefield Primary School as they celebrated their 65th anniversary.
Pupils were encouraged to dress up in 1930s gear to represent the era when the Victoria Avenue school was opened on October 9, 1937.
Staff joined in the fancy dress event and parties were held throughout the day to celebrate the school's special day.
A batch of helium balloons was also released, one for each pupil, with prizes awarded for the furthest distance reached by a balloon.
